Drugs mixed with alcohol is a horrible combination.

Yes, but this only works when the people suffering from substance abuse admit they have a problem. People like my son think that they’re alright and everyone else has the problems.
I have extensive experience working with people with substance abuse problems and how these problems interfere in their life.

I’m so glad for you. Mine son is being a complete pain. I’m hoping he’ll mature out of it like yours has.
I wonder sometimes if these individuals are actually trying to self-medicate, rather than to get high. That doesn’t make it any less frightening, though. Years ago one of my loved ones had a drug problem. Time and time again I told him I would not give up on him. And I didn’t. But there were times when I awoke at night screaming in fear. Today, these many years later, he is a wonderful husband and father and has a thriving career. He is also a man of good character. Hang in there. And don’t forget to take care of yourself!
